New York
Gladstone is a
leading contemporary art gallery with locations in New York, Brussels, and
Seoul. Representing more than seventy artists, as well as major foundations and
estates, Gladstone has played a significant role in launching the careers of
several of the most notable artists working today.
General
- Plan
and implement strategic press campaigns for the New York, Brussels, and
Seoul galleries for local and national media, including print, online, and
podcasts for exhibitions, art fairs, and other gallery
activities
- Report
to the Director of Communications & Marketing for regional press implementation and
mailings for Gladstone publications
- Manage
and cultivate media relationships for the New York gallery
- Manage
and track day-to-day media requests pertaining to gallery
- Track
progress and provide press updates for the gallery and its artists on a
weekly basis
- Work
with Directors on press releases for exhibitions, fairs, and other
announcements
- Organize
information and press kits for upcoming shows
- Organize
press previews for select New York exhibitions
- Manage
press and communications intern
Media Coverage Monitoring & Archiving
- Inform
Gladstone staff and gallery artists of key published media placements in
real-time
- Update
pitch and outreach logs for all gallery locations (New York, Brussels,
Seoul)
- Create
press clippings for all major print and online coverage, and organize and
upload to gallery database
- Maintain
digital and physical press archives and digitize content as appropriate
- Assist
with the management of the press contact database; develop tailored press
lists to support PR campaigns and monitor/flag new press contacts for the
team
- Coordinate
sending of special Gladstone updates for press contacts around major
events, such as art fairs and special projects
- Create press kits for exhibitions across all locations (New York, Brussels, Seoul) to the appropriate writers/media outlets
Marketing
- Work
alongside Digital Content Editor to manage mailing lists, segmented lists,
and track engagement and growth rate
- Manage
and update Notion (project managing tool) for exhibition and art fair
projects
- Contribute
towards East Coast audience development strategies and the development of
OKRs for various marketing channels, in close collaboration with the Director
of Communications & Marketing and COO
- Partner
with Director of Communications & Marketing to lead all exhibition
campaigns, including web pages, marketing emails, advertising campaigns,
and beyond
- Input
on global social media schedule as relates to Gladstone’s East Coast
activity and corporate goals
Skills
- BA required (preferred areas of study include
communications, journalism, or art history)
- 2-3 years of experience in a commercial gallery,
art institution, press office or PR agency
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize
and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communications
skills
- Portfolio of published print and digital media coverage
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, InDesign, and Photoshop, Google Drive
